When I did my first show with Mudlark- Antigone- I had no idea what a huge part of my life it would become. The character I played was originally an old blind prophet, however I played It as a spicy intellectual young woman. This was an amazing launch into my Mudlark career and what has helped me grow into the actress and woman I am today. 4 years and 5 shows later Mudlark has transformed me. Mudlark gives young people a voice and a chance to express themselves in an accepting, loving, and most of all fun environment. Some of my closest friendships have started with Mudlark. These shows give kids an accepting community to be a part of, there is always a place for everyone here. Supporting this organization and donating to our new Diversity Initiative, a partnership with The Art of Evolution Theatre Company that will create new opportunities for children of color to participate in Mudlark programs, will give kids the opportunities to grow and express themselves like I was able to.
